The program of events for Competitor Forum is detailed below. This schedule is subject to change as planning evolves and does not necessarily represent the final lineup of activities.


WHILE IN NEW YORK, THIS IS A MUST-SEE EVENT:
RECOVERY: The World Trade Center Recovery Operation at Fresh Kills, a travelling exhibition organized by the New York State Museum, hosted at The New York Historical Society, 2 West 77th Street, until March 21st, 2004.

PROGRAM DETAILS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

8:30 am
Registration opens at main entrance of Kimmel Center. PLEASE NOTE: NYU Security requires photo identification and event pre-registration for admission to the building. At the door you will receive a welcome kit, including participation certificate and name badge. Suggested donation is $40 per participant, cash upon arrival.

9:15 am
Welcome remarks by the event organizer, William Stratas, plus summary of the day's planned activities. A special keynote speaker may be arranged, subject to availability.

9:30 am
Start of the 1st presentation and discussion session. You will have opportunity to display and discuss your memorial proposal, if you choose, during any of the presentation and discussion sessions in the morning.

10:45 am
Mid-morning refreshment break.

11:00 am
Start of the 2nd presentation and discussion session.

12:30 pm
Mid-day break. Sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided on-site. There are eateries and fast food outlets on nearby streets if you wish other options, at your own expense.

1:30 pm
Start of the 3rd presentation and discussion session, which will include critique and analysis of the eight memorial finalists.

3:00 pm
Mid-afternoon refreshment break.

3:30 pm
Wrap-up group discussion and closing remarks by the event coordinator, William Stratas, or a guest speaker.

4:00 pm
Event program and activities end at Kimmel Center. All meeting rooms must be vacated by this time.

4:15 pm
Begin group walk to the World Trade Center site, approximately 30 minutes south of the NYU campus.

4:45 pm
Arrive at World Trade Center site, corner of Church and Vesey Streets. Free time for circumnavigation and exploration of the site, including the newly opened PATH train station, tower construction at 7 WTC site, and perimeter information displays.

5:30 pm
Walk across West Avenue to the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center. View and study the eight WTC memorial competition finalist proposals on display, including models and detailed images. PLEASE NOTE: If a final winning proposal is announced before December 6th, the exhibition of all 8 finalists will no longer be available for viewing and only the winning proposal will be displayed, according to LMDC.

6:30 pm
Closing reception and informal discussions with cash bar at a host location in the World Financial Center concourse, or in the neighborhood.

8:30 pm
Suggested end of post-forum activities. Evening open for individual plans.
